I went here on a Friday around 5. It was quiet when we arrived. The decor is seaish with a variety of seating. The menu is self explanatory and you can customize buckets if you don't like an item that is included. We got the bucket with crab legs, mussels, clams potatoes, corn, sausage and crawfish. They gave us a free sample of seafood bread.
The bread was good and didn't have an over the top fishy flavor. The bucket of seafood had the Cajun spices.. omg.. amazing. Hint.. the spices settle at bottom, move food around to drag food through spices and you will not be sorry. They have a variety of about 5 beers on tap and bottled beer and wine along with non alcoholic drinks. From start to finish we were probably there an hour. I like that they give you gloves and bib. The only thing that was a miss was the crawfish it tasted old or frozer burnt, but I would go back and recommend it! -

The one star is strictly for the amazing server that needs to find a better restaurant.
I stumbled across this dump when I asked my friend for "the best seafood restaurant for a first date". I'll never trust that girl again. We sat in a booth full of dick pics, racial slurs, pro trump and anti trump comments, and a bunch of other random things drawn all over the wall. They apparently don't have a grill, so the bacon wrapped scallops I so desired we're off the table, but don't worry, paper was, and that my friends, is when I knew this first date was about to go to hell in a hand basket.
The menu, simple, typical pricing, the waitress, a doll, quick, attentive, fun, couldn't have asked for more. So we order some meal to split, ya know, cute first date stuff. However, there was nothing cute about a garbage bag full of garbage seafood being delivered in a god damn bucket. The seasoning was spot on, I can only assume as a way to hide the quality of the contents of said trash bag. I had to give my lobster a pep talk to get out of my way before my date went savage and ripped the bag open. That's when we discovered the heaps of corn and potatoes propping up my buddy the lobster. We laughed, we tried, half way there we threw in the towel and opted for fair food and kissed the cash goodbye.
TLDR, DONT EVEN TRY IT. -

Good food, friendly helpful staff
Clean and comfortable
Check Groupon for discounts
Their bowls come with a bib and gloves because it tends to be a little messy
I was impressed with the quality of seafood, far surpasses Red Lobster
I had a bowl with lobster and scallops, delicious
I had garlic powder mixed in my van but there are other options
Free Wi-Fi but it doesn't work very well, The kids ended up tethering off my smart phone -

The Storming Crab is certainly a one of a kind restaurant in Syracuse - there's not a place that is even close to this market. The atmosphere is fun in an intentionally tacky kind of way, but it works! The wait staff was really friendly and gave honest reviews/recommendations, which was much appreciated.
We started with a pound of clams, which was a nice appetizer for 3 people. All of the food comes out incredibly quickly though, and they tide you over with some seafood bread to start. For meals, you basically can't go wrong doing a build your own bag. The shrimp are decent sized, and the green muscles were tasty. The lobster tail, scallops and snow crab were all particularly good. If you like garlic, go for the Cajun seasoning!
To be honest, I don't love the butter bag. Next time I would order the bag plain and ask for a side of whatever your sauce preference is. It was tasty, but just felt a bit much after a while. Better to butter at your own pace :-).
